Arkansas State University
will celebrate its 100-year anniversary in 2009-2010. The university’s centennial
celebration will begin on April 1, 2009 to commemorate the signing of Act 100 to
establish ASU as an institution, and will conclude on October 3, 2010, the
anniversary of the first day of class.
These pages are designed
to give you a look into the past, present and future of Arkansas State
University, as well as inform you of plans for the centennial celebration.
The Arkansas State
University Centennial Celebration is being planned by the Centennial Celebration
Commission, which consists of a number of committees that include representatives
from faculty, staff, alumni, student body, and community leaders. These
committees are hard at work coming up with ideas and events to celebrate the
rich history of Arkansas State University, and leave a lasting impression on
future students.
To make this a
truly memorable experience for everyone, we would like you to share your ideas
for ways to celebrate our 100-year anniversary. We would also love to hear
your stories or favorite
memories from your time here at ASU.
